Other Brandy Bottom Pages

As well as an introductory page, the other Brandy Bottom pages cover the history, and the AIBT's conservation work at the site. The latter is divided into several pages of photos of the work parties, buildings, finds, and nature. There is also a page with a location map, plus directions to the site and the dates of work parties.

Brandy Bottom Information Boards

There are two different sets of information boards. The first covers work at Brandy Bottom, while the second covers the industrial history of the surrounding area.

Brandy Bottom

The AIBT's has a set of 7 sheets covering the history of Brandy Bottom and the AIBT's conservation work at Brandy Bottom. These are used at the Heritage Open Days and at shows, and the following illustrations on this page are copies of the current (2019) version of the sheets.

Local Industrial Heritage

The set of 4 A2-sized sheets on the local industrial heritage seen below were made made for display in the Lyde Green Community Associations community centre. They briefly cover: The Dramway; Brandy Bottom; Parkfield and Ram Hill Collieries; Shortwood Brickworks and Handel Cossham. They also carry the logos and brief notes about the AIBT, the Bristol Industrial Archaeological Society (BIAS) and the South Gloucestershire Mines Research Group (SGMRG). (Unlike the AIBT, both BIAS and the SGMRG have a programme of lectures and walks) A second set of 3 sheets has been produced for the AIBT. They are very similar, but without the one on Brandy Bottom, and are used during Heritage Open Days and at shows when the main Brandy Bottom sheets are also on display.
